| The Jesus Hawkers |

Sometimes it seems you can’t turn around but they are in your face. The Jesus hawkers. They turn up on the Larry King show (by invitation, of course). They move in next door. All they lack in knowledge, understanding and wisdom, they make up for in belief and enthusiasm. Enthusiasm for a mission on which no one in authority has sent them. They would have us believe all God has ever said is in their exclusive possession and if you do not believe God has given them the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth - you are going to hell, to be punished for all eternity. Scary huh?
In truth, Jesus prophesied of them. He said that many would come in His name, saying He is the Christ and would deceive many. The Jesus Hawkers read this scripture as though the many would be deceived by people claiming to be Jesus, which is fairly easy to test. What Jesus was saying was; the deceivers would claim His authority, (coming in His name) declare Christ to be who He is and then deceive many. (1700 years of corrupt church authority?) The Jesus Hawkers are those deceived by others in Jesus’ name. This is in great part what makes them so obnoxious. They are quite sure if we do not share their misunderstandings and outright ignorance of things spiritual, we have no hope. To them good works means to promote and sell, sell, sell Jesus at every opportunity, every waking moment.
As devout Protestants they are taught a Roman Catholic, Jesuit doctrine called the secret rapture of the saints. This was developed centuries ago to stop the Protestant identification of the whore that rides the beast in the book of Revelation, as the Roman Catholic Church. Under this deception, believers are flying off to heaven to observe Armageddon with Jesus. A very popular book series was created to exploit and profit from this doctrine. It’s called "Left Behind". So here is my warning to those who suspect we are all going through the holocaust to end all holocausts: Do not expect help from these hawkers who believe they won’t be here. They are totally unprepared to survive or endure and will possibly convert to Islam to save their lives when it appears Jesus has deserted them.
Because they also believe Jesus cannot return except they bring this holocaust about to prepare His way, you can also understand why they are in full support of any war in the Middle East. Bless their loving little hearts. No need to hold any of this against them. They are indeed part of the greater plan. From what I can see, they are right on schedule. Since George Bush claims to be one of them, we can be sure there will be no real effort made for peace in the Middle East. They expect Israel to be destroyed, except for those Jews who accept Jesus. They are likely partially correct in that view. Still, U.S. treaties to come to Israel’s defense will be honored and the war in Iraq is all about preempting attacks on Israel, not the U.S..
The Israelis have considered Iran the greater threat and a nuclear Iran is a serious threat indeed. We can expect Iran to be the next target for preemptive strike as was implied by the axis of evil speech. The attack the U.S. will not preempt will likely come from Pakistan, perhaps indirectly to avoid any counter strike. Isn’t this exciting? Don’t you wish you could fly away to watch it all unfold?
Since Iran is such a threat to Israel, it matters little if the Bush administration makes a preemptive strike on Iran. American forces next door in Iraq and Afghanistan serve as a defensive barrier to an Iranian attack on Israel so U.S. forces will remain in Iraq, regardless of Iraqi elections or any announced withdrawal. How many will remain is anybody’s guess. If either Israel or the U.S. makes a preemptive strike on Iran, troops will have to occupy both countries and they will not be Israeli troops.
It might seem confusing that Jesus Hawkers want Armageddon ASAP yet they are committed to the defense of Israel, according to treaty. This commitment stems from a scripture in Genesis where God says He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. If the people who now occupy the recently created state called Israel are not descended from any of the original twelve tribes, it makes no difference to Jesus Hawkers, they will bless anyone who appropriates the name Israel and curse no one to be safe. In any event, a treaty is a treaty and they believe they won’t be here on earth when it all goes down.
When the Jesus Hawkers get in your face, know they have been deceived and just say Amen. They have no interest in reason, they love vain repetition and they are not going anywhere when Jesus returns.
